Do I really want to do this?

 When Diane suggested I consider substitute teaching, the idea was so out of the blue that it took me a month to seriously consider it. It gradually occurred to me that I had tons of free time, being newly retired, I am passionate about education, and I enjoy the energy of being around young people. As does Diane. I eventually decided, ‘why not, what could go wrong’.

So, after a fingerprint test, a background check, a LiveScan, a TB check, and a 3-hour orientation with the wonderful firm Swing Education, I was officially approved to start taking assignments as a Substitute Teacher. I took the plunge. May God help all the innocent precious children I come in contact with.
